THE OFFICIAL BRIEFCASE STRATEGY GUIDE v1.1 ------------------------------------------ Briefcase is a puzzle game by Fallout Software. This document explains how to improve your briefcase-packing skills. All information provided in this document refers to the game Briefcase, please don't use these strategies to pack your own briefcases! * Item is refered to as a "thing" or an "object" that you put into the briefcase during the game. Here are 6 strategies to improve your score: -------------------------------------------- 1. Try to fit the most complex items in the beginning of the level, not when your briefcase is already 50% to 80% full. This will allow you to think about how to fit less complex items into a given restricted area of the briefcase that unfolds during the rest of the level. 2. Combine complex items with rectangular and/or square items to create a new rectangle-shaped space. As you will find out, fitting rectangles or squares together is easier than fitting irregular objects together. This doesn't always work but try to create rectangular areas out of irregular-shaped objects combined with other objects. Using this technique you will be able to eliminate most irregular-shaped objects. 3. Place the biggest or longest objects into the briefcase first. If you follow this rule you will end up with many smaller items in the end of the level which are easier to rearrange. 4. Think before you place your first item into the briefcase. Briefly look at all items, combine all of the strategies listed above to think which item should go first. Usually the first and up to 3rd item placements define whether you will be able to finish the level or not, especially in the difficult levels. 5. There are many ways you can complete the same level. 6. When the last item doesn't seem to fit, try to think of how can some of the items already in the briefcase can be rearranged. Don't unpack the whole briefcase to start over. But keep in mind that sometimes, in hard levels you will actually need to unpack the whole briefcase because some items just won't fit into each other when certain items are in certain places!
